How to refund an order

Sometimes you will need to refund your shopper. Maybe the shirt didn't fit, or maybe the color wasn't what the customer expected; no matter the reason, you will still need to send the money back to their account.

To issue a refund, you will have to manually issue it from your PayPal, Stripe, or Klarna account.

It's important to note that the refund will be issued differently depending on which payment option the customer used. Find the payment option in the below list and follow the steps.


For PayPal:

  1. Log in to your PayPal account.
  2. Click History.
  3. Click Details next to the payment you want to refund.
  4. Click Issue a refund.
  5. Enter the refund amount, then click Continue.
  6. Review the information, then click Issue Refund.

 

For Stripe:

  1. Log in to your Stripe account.
  2. Open your Dashboard.
  3. Access Payments Overview.
  4. Hover over the charge, and click the gray Refund button.
  5. Enter the refund amount, then click Continue.

 

For Klarna:

For a full refund:

  1. Click Cancel order for the specific order located in your Tictail dashboard. This will automatically cancel the full invoice in Klarna. 

For a partial refund:

  1. Select the order on which you want to make a partial refund.
  2. Select Partial Refund.
  3. Remove the items that the consumer returned by changing the field for Quantity to refund.
  4. Select +Add Item if you want to add a return fee. You can not increase the total amount of the order.
  5. Click on Refund.
