If your store is based in EU, you can add your VAT number in your Tictail dashboard. This will automatically add the VAT number in your Terms & Conditions, include it in all receipts from your store, apply it on all your app and commission billings and display it the Monthly financial summary.
Adding a VAT number will also automatically deduct any VAT applied to transactions fees (for orders via Tictail Payments) and commission for marketplace shoppers as it will be regarded as a business to business transaction according to EU regulation. Otherwise, the appropriate VAT rate of the EU country in which the shop is located will be applied. This affects all shops based in EU but outside of Sweden.
Please note, entering your VAT number will not change the total price for any of our apps e.g. Plus. We are using universal pricing for apps and the total cost will always be the same - with or without tax. The only difference being that the tax amount will be zero on the receipts you receive from our App Store. You can read more about how you are billed for apps here.
For shops located outside the EU, taxes/VAT is not applicable to transaction fees, commission or any other Tictail fees.
Now, let's go through how to add a VAT number in your shop:
1. Start by heading to the Location & Legal section of your settings.
2. Scroll down to your tax settings and you will find the VAT number field. Enter your company VAT number, click Save - and ta-da, you're done!
3. Our system will automatically check if the VAT number is valid. If you accidentally entered the incorrect VAT number, you will receive this warning:
4. Your VAT number will now be visible on all receipts for your customers to see.
Please note, a VAT number is only applicable for shops based in EU countries.
